What it actually does
Reads the trackers you already have
Your buses carry Fleetr units. School Run reads them, so the office sees where every bus is, whether it is speeding, and whether it is running late, without buying hardware or asking anyone to install a second app. If a bus goes quiet while children are aboard, someone is told.
Lets children tap themselves in
Children wearing an NFC tag on a badge or bag tap themselves on and off as they pass the matron, so a full bus clears in seconds. The matron marks whoever is left boarded, alighted or absent, signed in under their own account rather than a shared device login. It keeps working with no signal and syncs when the phone finds one, and anything unresolved is listed the moment the run closes.
Tells the right guardian, once
An SMS or email goes out when a child boards and when they alight, and as the bus nears their stop if the school turns that on. It reaches the guardians of that child and nobody else. Daily caps keep it from becoming noise, and every message is written to a log the school can read back.
The mornings you worry about
Transport is where a school carries the most risk and holds the least evidence. These are the situations that end up in the head's office.

Import the student list, drop the stops onto the map, invite guardians and staff. Every account is created by the school; there is no public sign-up.

The matron opens the run on their phone. The tracker sends position. They tap each child as they board and alight, signal or no signal.

No. School Run reads the Fleetr tracker already fitted to your buses. If you do not run Fleetr yet, we will help you get set up.
The matron's page works offline. Taps are stored on the phone and sync when it reconnects, so a dead spot on the route does not cost you a child.
No. A link is minted per guardian per run, lasts eight hours at most, and expires by itself. There is no permanent link to a child's location.
Any member of staff with an account can open the run on their own phone, and the manifest follows the run rather than the device. A run left open is flagged to the office as overdue rather than quietly forgotten.
A single-route pilot is usually live within a week. We import the student and guardian lists from whatever you already keep them in, and we set up the first route with you rather than handing you a manual.
Never. Children have no accounts, no app and no phone. Where a school issues NFC tags they tap on and off as they board, and the matron confirms anyone without one. A lost tag is deactivated and reissued; it holds no personal data, only an identifier.
Bring your own. Africa's Talking, Celcom, or any HTTP API. You enter the endpoint, headers and template once and School Run posts to it. There is no markup and no middleman.
We comply with the data protection law that applies to your school. Records are kept seven years and then deleted. Children have no accounts and carry no analytics. Our DPA and sub-processor list are published.
